Can I Apply?

Applicants may be organisations or individuals, but generally are expected to be from the old Taranaki Electric Power Board district. You can search your address on the map below to see if you are in the area. 

Individuals who apply are generally expected to live in the area. An organisation may have its office outside of the area but needs to show that members who are to benefit from the grant reside in the Trust area.

A grant will only be approved where it will benefit people in the Trust area.

Each application is considered on its merits and approval is at the discretion of the Trustees. It is subject to the Trustees being satisfied the application is for a charitable purpose and falls within their powers under the Deed of Trust.

Types of Grants

General Grant Applications

Applications for $100,000 and over have an annual close off date of 20 August 2026.
Applications for under $100,000 close on the 20th of each month. Organisations and individuals applying to TET moving forward should use this portal: https://tet.fluxx.io/. It is the same system that is used by the likes of the TOI Foundation and DIA. Any queries can be directed to the TET office.

The Strategic Project Grant category provides a pathway for projects that deliver significant, long-term benefit to the Trust area, particularly where the scale, complexity, or level of investment required is not well suited to standard grant processes.

Details for applications for the TET Tertiary Scholarships (for those undertaking tertiary study for the first time in 2027) will be released in August. TET Trade Scholarships can be made throughout the year.

Education Applications

Applications for education providers, (including schools, kindergartens, playcentres, day care centres and Te Kohanga Reo), are considered on an annual basis. Information about 2026 education grants will be released in August. Applicants will be advised of the outcomes after the November meeting.

How to Apply

Organisations and individuals applying to TET moving forward should use this portal: https://tet.fluxx.io/.

General applications are considered on a monthly basis. Applications for $100,000 and over have an annual close off date of the 20 August. Applications for under $100,000 close on the 20th of each month and apply through https://tet.fluxx.io/.

Strategic Project applications are open throughout the year. Please refer to the Strategic Project Framework and Checklist for more details, and apply through https://tet.fluxx.io/

Education applications are considered on an annual basis. All schools, kindergartens, Playcentres, daycare centres and Te Kohanga Reo will shortly be notified of the 2026 funding round.

TET Tertiary Scholarship applications are considered on an annual basis. Applications for those attending a tertiary institution for the first time in 2027 are now closed will be released in late August 2026.

TET Trade Scholarship applications can be lodged on the general application form at any time during the year, however the applicant must be a student at school at the time that the application is submitted.

Mobility Scooter applications can be lodged at any time. These are done through the PDF format - refer to the documents page.
