Creative Fibre Taranaki

Creative Fibre Taranaki received a $2,000.00 grant in September 2020 to hold their biennial exhibition at the Percy Thomson gallery in Stratford. Here's what convenor Bernice Mitchell had to say

Fibreworks 2020, the biennial exhibition by Taranaki Creative Fibre members ran from 17th October until November 15 at the Percy Thomson Gallery in Stratford.
The exhibition covers a wide array of fibre art disciplines including weaving, knitting, spinning, felting and crochet. Many of the artists hold national awards and are experts in manipulating natural fibre into creative texture and form
Prizes have been awarded across several categories which range from excellence in specific skills, artistic design, to the use of colour and specific fibres, such as silk, alpaca, flax, wool, cotton and exotic animal fibres. Included in the awards is a First time Entrant award, encouraging new members to enter their work.
Creative fibre is a nationwide organisation and always welcomes new members to join and learn new skills or develop their skills in the fibre realm.
Taranaki Creative Fibre are grateful for the amazing support of the Taranaki Electricity Trust for their generous sponsorship of our event. This enabled us to hire the Percy Thomson Gallery, without such sponsorship we simply would not be able to hold this fabulous exhibition of our members works.
