WWI German field gun restored

Restored field gun now on display in Eltham

The Taranaki Branch of the NZ Antique and Historical Arms Association Inc is delighted that after many years of wishful thinking, finally, a WWI German field gun has been restored. It will soon be on display in Eltham.

The gun had been partly buried and required blasting and painting, which was done by a local engineering firm.

"The support of the TET on this project has been vital to getting this project over the line," said Secretary/Treasurer, Zac Dodunski. "We have struggled with this project over many years with volunteer and donation efforts falling on the wayside due to Covid and the engineering economic downturn."

"We applaud this amazing organisation for the good work it enables in the community and the support is gratefully appreciated!"
