Vibrant uplift at Stratford Community Childcare Centre
New kitchen makes a meaningful difference
A new kitchen at the Stratford Community Childcare Centre is making a huge difference according to the Centre's Manager, Olivia Kaye.
Like most buildings, the heart if often in the kitchen and the recent upgrade, funded through a TET grant, has improved the funationability - and this has had a positive spinoff throughout the whole organisation.
"Our beautiful new kitchen and kai area has brought fresh energy to our Garden to Table programme, where our tamariki take pride in growing, harvesting, preparing and sharing their own food," Kaye said. "There is so much joy in coming together to create and enjoy meals and the new space makes these moments even more special. It has strengthened our sense of community, encouraged hands-on learning and created lasting memories filled with laughter, connection and aroha."
The new space is has also resulted in the growing independence of tamariki, Kaye noted.
"We feel so incredibly lucky and deeply grateful for this support, which has made such a meaningful difference to our daily environment here at SCCC."
