Pukearuhe Hall improvements strengthens community

Improvements to the kitchen at the Pukearuhe Hall have had positive effects
Improvements to the Pukearuhe Hall kitchen have had a positive impact on the local community.
According to the Society's secretary, Julie Hill, the hall is now a desirable place for the community to meet and engage with each other.
The Hall has recently upgraded its dishwasher and fridge/freezer, thanks to a grant from the Taranaki Electricity Trust, and as a result, utilisation of the facility has grown significantly. There is a specific increase in the number of booked/casual small gatherings of local youth since the project was completed in November 2024. "The young people have been making good use of the improved kitchen facilities," says Julie.
Enthused by the upsurge in use and extra community spirit which has been created, officers of the Hall are now planning two further upgrades to further enhance the facility.
