New equipment builds confidence at Koru

Stratford's Koru Kindergarten has benefited from a TET grant to purchase new climbing equipment.

Stratford's Koru Kindergarten has benefited from a TET grant to purchase new climbing equipment.

Koru's head teacher, Le-Arna Russ, said the new equipment was an excellent addition to the grounds of the kindergarten.

"Our climbing equipment has added new and exciting physical challenges for our tamariki," Russ said. "We have a great interest in climbing here at Koru and children are constantly seeking items to climb.  This new equipment has been a great addition to our loose parts playground as the children are able to manipulate their own obstacle course as they please."

This was not only creating an enjoyable environment but also assisting in the growth of the children. "It is helping them to build resilience and confidence in their physical abilities," Russ concluded.

"Thank you to TET for the funds to purchase this equipment, it is so much appreciated."
