Inglewood GirlGuiding Rangers benefits from new equipment
New equipment proves its worth on first camp
"It poured on Friday night, absolutely fell out of the sky!" That was the experience for the Inglewood Girl Guiding Rangers when they undertook their recent November camp.
Thankfully, the girls were prepared, with new tents and cooking equipment, which were purchase following a grant from the Taranaki Electricity Trust.
"If we'd used the old tents, the girls would have gotten wet beds," Valerie Barraclough said. In fact, they would have had to use alternative accommodation. But thanks to the new tents, those important real life experiences that grow our young women could still be experienced.
The new cooking equipment also provided the girls with new experiences. "The funding has had a positive impact and they look forward to more outdoor adventures."
